Menlo Security Wins Data Loss Prevention Solution of the Year in the 2026 CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards
Bilateral Integration Unites Menlo's Browser-Native Detection with SOC-Driven Response, Extending Protection to AI Agents Built on Google Cloud Gemini Enterprise
Mountain View, Calif. — October 8, 2026 — Menlo Security, the leader in Browser Security for human and agentic workforces, today announced it has won Data Loss Prevention Solution of the Year in the 2026 CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards. The award recognizes Menlo AI Adaptive DLP for protecting sensitive data inside the browser session, the point where employees paste, upload, and type data into generative AI tools and where AI agents move data on their own. This achievement marks Menlo Security’s second consecutive win in the CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards, following last year’s honor as the Enterprise Security Solution of the Year.
"Data loss no longer starts on the network or the endpoint. It starts in the browser session, the moment someone pastes a record into an AI prompt or an agent acts on data of its own,” said Eric Avigdor, Vice President of Product at Menlo Security. “We built Menlo AI Adaptive DLP to govern that exact moment for people and AI agents alike, without getting in the way of work. This recognition confirms what we hear from customers: protecting data in motion today means protecting the browser session itself, in real-time.
How Menlo AI Adaptive DLP protects data in the browser session
Network DLP inspects network traffic, and endpoint DLP monitors the device, but neither can see what happens inside the browser session where data is entered and exposed, and neither can govern an AI agent operating through a headless browser.
Menlo AI Adaptive DLP closes that gap by enforcing data protection at the point of use, inside the browser session:
- Document Object Model (DOM)-level visibility: Menlo AI Adaptive DLP sees and controls every upload, download, copy, paste, form fill, and GenAI prompt as it happens.
- AI-powered detection: Menlo AI Adaptive DLP uses AI-based detection instead of regular expression (RegEx) pattern matching, with dynamic masking that redacts sensitive data only when and where needed, so employees and agents can keep working.
- Lightweight deployment: Menlo AI Adaptive DLP deploys as a browser extension across managed, unmanaged, and bring-your-own-device endpoints, with no replacement browser, virtual desktop infrastructure, or endpoint agent.
At a multi-state long-term care pharmacy handling Protected Health Information (PHI) across dozens of locations, Menlo AI Adaptive DLP analyzed 56 million browser requests in 30 days and identified 276,000 file uploads to GenAI tools. The pharmacy's existing DLP could not see, log, or control any of this activity, which is the type of PHI transmission HIPAA audit controls require organizations to track. This is one instance. The same blind spot exists in every industry, which makes data loss prevention inside the browser session essential for any organization.
Extending data protection to AI agents
Menlo Security treats AI agents as identities subject to the same data controls as human users. Menlo Agent Runtime Security (MARS) extends the Menlo AI Adaptive DLP control plane to autonomous agents. MARS enforces instruction-data separation and least-privilege access, which prevents an agent from leaking data or following hidden commands embedded in the content it processes.

About Menlo Security
Menlo Security is the pioneer of the Browser Security Platform, the industry’s first infrastructure designed to govern a hybrid workforce of humans and autonomous AI agents. By centering the browser as the new enterprise operating system, Menlo provides a "Guardian Runtime" that resolves the unique risks created when AI agents operate at machine-speed without human skepticism. The Menlo platform enables the agentic enterprise to scale AI with confidence, providing universal connectivity to legacy data and unified zero-day threat prevention across every session. Trusted by over 1,000 global enterprises—including eight of the ten largest financial institutions and major government agencies—Menlo protects over 8 million users and millions of simultaneous AI agent sessions. Headquartered in Mountain View, California, and backed by investors including JPMorgan Chase, American Express Ventures, and Vista Equity Partners, Menlo is securing the browser for the agentic age.
