What is the "Innovative Financial Service (Financial Regulatory Sandbox)"?
The Financial Regulatory Sandbox, officially known as the “Innovative Financial Service” designation in Korea, is a program led by the Financial Services Commission (FSC) that allows companies to test innovative financial solutions and technologies in a controlled environment with relaxed regulations. It is intended to foster innovation while maintaining regulatory oversight, enabling new services to be piloted before broader commercial adoption.
Menlo Security Receives Designation from FSC
Global cybersecurity company Menlo Security has officially been designated as an Innovative Financial Service by Korea’s Financial Services Commission (FSC). This designation allows Menlo Security to legally test and operate its Web Isolation-based secure web access service within domestic financial institutions.
The designation, which was jointly applied for with leading financial institutions, passed the FSC’s rigorous evaluation process. Menlo Security’s technology was highly rated for its ability to isolate threats at the source, providing secure access to the internet and SaaS applications in internal financial networks that are often vulnerable to malware infections, phishing, data leakage, and zero-day attacks.
