When it comes to acknowledging the importance of security in the business–and investing in it–we’re in a much better place now than we were a decade ago. What was once perceived as a cost center has drastically evolved. Gone are the days when security leaders couldn’t “speak the language” of the board or C-suite. Today, many Chief Information Security Officers (CISO) not only regularly meet with other executive leaders but can also translate the importance of their teams and their mission in terms of business value.

But given the recent economic downturn that has impacted organizations around the globe, it may be more difficult for security leaders to receive the funding they need to achieve their ultimate goal; to measurably reduce cyber risk in the business.

In the insightful panel discussion featured below, Menlo Security’s Senior Director of Cybersecurity Strategy, Mark Guntrip, joins a panel of active CISOs to discuss their priorities and focus areas in 2023, given the global economic difficulties that lie ahead.
