June may be Pride Month, but at Menlo Security, our commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community is year-round. We believe in creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and respected. This Pride Month, we hosted a series of engaging events and initiatives that made a real difference.
Pride in Action
Fireside Chat with Alicia Roth Weigel: We were honored to welcome Alicia Roth Weigel for an open and insightful fireside chat. Alicia bravely shared her experience and perspective on what it means to be Intersex, the unique challenges she’s overcome, and her impactful work raising awareness and advocating for social change in the Austin, Texas community, and nation-wide!
Menlo Auction for LGBTQ+ Suicide Prevention: Our generous employees donated amazing items and experiences for a company-wide auction. Together, we raised an impressive $700 for this vital cause.
Drag Queen Trivia: Laughter and friendly competition filled the (virtual) air during our company-wide Drag Queen Trivia night. It was a fun and fabulous way to learn and connect!
Menlo Bucks for a Cause: We took our employee recognition program to a new level, allowing Menlovians to donate their "Menlo Bucks'' to LGBTQ+-supporting organizations of their choice. We raised $472 and donated money to Silicon Valley Pride, Rainbow Migration, and Sangama. We’re incredibly proud to see our team's collective generosity making a global difference.
Menlovian Impact and Feedback
The response from our employees has been overwhelmingly positive. Many Menlovians expressed their appreciation for how our Pride Month initiatives made them feel more connected to the company and each other, while also deepening their understanding of LGBTQIA+ experiences. We're heartened by the feedback and the sense of community it reflects.
While we are proud of the progress we have made in creating a diverse and inclusive workplace, we know that there is still more work to be done. We’re committed to continuing our efforts to make Menlo a place where everyone feels welcome, accepted, and respected.
We believe everyone deserves to feel respected and valued, and we are proud to be a company that celebrates diversity and inclusion.
