Menlo@Home Chrome Extension

How it Works

The Menlo@Home™ Chrome Extension opens links from your clicks in an isolated Browser in our Global Cloud making sure nothing from the website reaches you. But, our really awesome technology ensures that you won’t notice this at all. This lets you surf the web exactly like before, but without any of the risk.

Turns out you can have your cake and eat it too.

Menlo@Home Features

Safe Links

Got an email link that you are not sure you can click on it? We’ll automatically open unsafe links in Gmail, Yahoo! and Office 365 in our Isolated Browser. You don’t have to ask your friends if it’s safe to click.

Safe Docs

Read random PDFs and Office documents on the web without having to download them to your computer first and running the risk of infection. We’ll instantly convert these into a safe version, so you can say no to Ransomware.

Safe Search

Unsure of links in your Google search results? We’ll not only highlight the risky ones for you, we will automatically open those links in our Isolated Browser too. Don’t let malware get in the way of your next vacation.

Privacy First: Guaranteed

We will never sell your data or use it to target ads.

Privacy First

We anonymize your identity so nobody at Menlo@Home can attribute any of the logs back to you. Where you go on the Internet is none of our business. But keeping you safe is.

Want to find out more about Menlo@Home isolation? Please check the answers below:

  • These days the majority of attacks directly target your browser. Menlo@Home isolates suspicious online activity – like phishing attacks, drive-by-downloads and online documents infected with ransomware – by safely executing the web pages in the Menlo Security cloud. Your browser sees the content of the page without your device ever being exposed.

  • Menlo@Home secures your online activity by isolating suspicious websites and online documents. When safe.menlosecurity.com precedes a website (safe.menlosecurity.com/https://www.example.com) then you know you are protected by Menlo@Home.

  • If you have trouble viewing a website the easiest solution is to hit refresh in your browser and this should solve the problem. If you 100% trust the page you are viewing you can move the page out of isolation (see below). If the problem still persists please check the Community Forum.

  • When a page loads in isolation there are three options to bypass it. This should only be done if you are 100% confident that the web page is legitimate and from a source you trust:

    1. On suspicious phishing pages there will be a banner at the top that will include an option to "Bypass Menlo@Home". Clicking on that link will move your browsing off the Menlo Security platform.
    2. On other pages there will be a pop-up in the lower right corner of the screen that gives you the same option.
    3. Isolated pages will begin with safe.menlosecurity.com – by deleting that part of the URL (called the "pre-pend") and hitting enter the webpage will reload and move off of the Menlo Security platform.
